Family Halloween Fun At Camp Scott

Fort Wayne, Indiana– A night of safe and not so scary Halloween fun will take place for children under the age of 12 at the Camp Scott Wetlands.

The first ever, Halloween at the Wetlands, will be Monday October 28, 2013 from 7:00 -9:00pm. The Camp Scott Wetlands are located at 3615 Oxford Street.

The event is free and offers fun for the whole family. Children are encouraged to wear costumes, but because this is a non-scary event planned for younger children, full face masks are not permitted.

Festivities include trick or treating on the trail, a bonfire and a pumpkin patch were kids can select a right-sized pumpkin to take home.

The event will take place even if it rains.

Camp Scott is handicapped accessible. Parents should be aware that some of the treats do contain peanuts.

About Camp Scott

The Camp Scott Wetlands are operated by Fort Wayne City Utilities. These wetlands were constructed to store and treat stormwater runoff on the City’s southeast side. The stormwater from several neighborhoods around McMillen Park goes to a massive storage tank at the park and is then pumped to the wetlands.

The wetlands also provides a natural habitat for song birds, water birds and other animals.
