Ivy Tech Northeast To Host A Reason To Taste Fundraiser Saturday

BACKGROUND:
A Reason to Taste is the largest fundraiser at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast each year. Its current incarnation as a high-end event began in 2012, and the event raises funds for student scholarships through the Ivy Tech Foundation.

Guests will be treated to Flamenco & Flames, an event centered on the wonders of Barcelona and Madrid, which will be served tapas-style. The sold-out event is supported by individuals and corporate tables from companies and organizations in northeast Indiana that stand behind the mission of the College.

At A Reason to Taste: Flamenco & Flames, guests will dine on a multi-course menu prepared by hospitality administration students who won an opportunity to study culinary arts in Spain and France for 10 days. Students created the menu and will cook and serve the food at the fundraiser.

Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items. The auction will be hosted online, and items include a wide array of donations: jewelry, restaurant and local business gift cards, trips, children’s items, and more.

21Alive media personalities Melissa Long and Tommy Schoegler will emcee the event.
