There Is Still Time To Help

Biscuit-crunching, treat munching, four-legged fidos are sitting up and begging to be part of Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control’s 29th Annual Walk-For-Animals and NEW this year, 2-mile Furry Scurry Fun Run. With owners in tow, pets will take a 1-mile autumn stroll through Franke Park THIS Sunday, September 18th. Animal lovers can register DAY OF, with or without a pet, between 11am and 12:30pm at Franke Park Pavilion #1 (just behind the Ft. Wayne Children’s Zoo).The Fun Run starts at 12:45pm with the Walk starting shortly thereafter. The cost is $25 to walk and includes a ‘free’ walk T-Shirt, additional pledge collecting is encouraged! The 2-mile Furry Scurry Fun Run is $35. Prizes will be given to top fundraisers!

“Our goal this year is 30-thousand dollars to help fight abuse and neglect through education programs. It would make it our biggest fundraising event ever, Jodi Hamilton of Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control said. If every animal lover gave us only $1, we could reach our goal. We love to see our previous adopters and the pets that have been given a second chance.”
There will also be a silent auction, raffle tickets for prizes, and vendors will have services and items for sale and giveaway. For more information call 427-5508.
