Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department Is Sponsoring A Teddy Bear Drive

The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring a Teddy Bear Drive on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. It is being held in conjunction with the “Night of Lights” when the downtown merchants turn on their Christmas lights and hold numerous events for all children in our area! Collection hours are from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, in the lobby of the Community Center, 233 West Main Street. Any child who brings a new or gently-used teddy bear to donate will be given a chance to win a 36” teddy bear. The drawing for the big bear will be done the weekend following and the winner does not have to be present to win. The big bear to be given away is pictured below. Teddys donated that night will go to the Disorderly Bear Den and their members will fluff them, give them a new neck ribbon and get them to children in trauma situations and/or lonely adults in nursing homes in the Fort Wayne area.
