Ed Souers, chair of the board of directors for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, was named a 2016 Ernestine M. Raclin Community Leadership Award winner by 1st Source Bank. Souers designated Cancer Services as the recipient of a $1,000 donation from the bank.

The Ernestine M. Raclin Community Leadership Award was established by 1st Source Bank to honor people who demonstrate a leadership role through their volunteer service. The award also honors Ernie, Chair Emeritus of 1st Source Corporation, who set an outstanding example of leadership throughout her career by giving her time and talents to help others.

Each recipient is honored at a reception, presented with the Globe of Leadership and given the opportunity to make a donation to the charitable origination of their choice.

“Ed Souers’ bold leadership has helped Cancer Services offer innovative programs and ensured that we were able to keep up with the increasing needs of families touched by cancer in our community,” said Dianne May, president and CEO of Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. “We are grateful for his leadership and his generosity in designating this gift to help cancer patients.”

Souers has served on Cancer Services’ board for three years and served on the organization’s finance committee prior to his board services.
