World AIDS Day is an important opportunity for people from around the world to come together and bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. This year marks the 28th anniversary of World AIDS Day and is designed to increase awareness, fight prejudice, and improve educational efforts towards stopping the spread of HIV and AIDS in our community. World AIDS Day was envisioned as an opportunity for people everywhere to demonstrate both the importance attached to the fight against AIDS and their solidarity and unity in this effort, and it has become an important event in that it reminds people that HIV and AIDS continues to be a global epidemic.
