USF Lecture Examines ISIS And The Crusades

The University of Saint Francis Department of Philosophy and Theology is offering a free public lecture, “ISIS and The Crusades: On the Uses and Abuses of History,” on Wednesday, January 25 at 7 p.m. in the Brookside Ballroom on the USF campus, 2701 Spring Street.

Dr. Adam DeVille, USF associate professor of theology, will explore the historiographical issues involved in abuses of historical “memory,” arguing that psychoanalytic theories of trauma, screen memories and misplaced rage may help to understand historical and current events.

This lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Angie Springer at aspringer or (260) 399-7700 x8100.
