Since the end of 2014, Jagger Hurraw has been raising money for Honor Flight Northeast Indiana. His latest installment put him well over the $5,000 mark.

Jagger has seven different designs of paper airplanes. He has created a poster and sets up a display and with each donation, the contributor picks out a plane to take with them. His donations have ranged from .25 to $250. Jagger first got interested in Veterans after watching a PBS special about D-Day. His mom Chante, did research of local military organizations and came up with Honor Flight. It was a good fit. Jagger says “he likes doing it and want to continue to help as long as he can”.

Hurraw raises money primarily through attending dinners at the American Legions in Fremont and Garrett. He also attended a Veteran Day Ham and Beans dinner, a Chamber of Commerce meeting as well as a craft fair all in Hamilton, IN. He raises an average of $200 each time he attends an event and all without the benefit of a social media presence and no advertising.

Jagger is big brother to two sisters and one brother, all who are home-schooled. He loves sports, reads a lot of books, tinkers in the barn and runs an egg business. Jagger was also selected to carry the Indiana Bicentennial torch due to his support of Honor Flight.

Honor Flight NE Indiana, Inc. is a volunteer, nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. 95% of all donations go directly towards the veterans’ trips.
