1948 Tucker “Torpedo” Museum Loan Extended!

The loan of a 1948 Tucker at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is extended until May 28. The revolutionary automobile dreamt by Preston Tucker, also designed by former Auburn Automobile Company stylist Alex Tremulis, is a technologically advanced must see!

In the 1988 film Tucker: The Man and His Dream starring a young Jeff Bridges, personifies actual events where Preston Tucker challenges the status quo and proves that with some hard work, a little bit of luck, and a lot of passion, anything is possible. While only 51 Tuckers were built; the automobile on display at the Museum is number 52. How is this possible? This fully restored Tucker was one of several left behind partially built after Tucker went out of business in 1950.

Thanks to John W. Schuler of Aurora, Indiana, the 1948 Tucker “Torpedo” loan is extended to be on display until May 28. It is located, front and center, in the Gallery of Excellence and Innovation atop the Grand Staircase of the former Auburn Automobile Company Administration Building. If you want to see an American-made, mid-engine automobile that forced the “Big Three” to sweat, then mark your calendars, plan a trip, and visit the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum.
