Outdoor Survival Skills Series, Purdue Extension

Outdoor Survival Skills is a series of hands-on opportunities for youth in grades 3 – 12 (as of January 1, 2017). Youth will have the opportunity to learn while having FUN about what to eat in the wild, how to start a fire (over 50 ways), knife safety, drinkable water, outdoor cooking, locating/building shelter and MUCH MORE.

The workshops will be from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Larry & Joyce Keiffer Family Living Building located on the Huntington County Fairgrounds.

The dates are June 13, July 11, August 15, September 12 and October 10. There will be an optional overnight camp-out also available.

Registration is due by June 9 to the Huntington County Extension Office. Cash or checks (made payable to Huntington CES Fund) will be accepted. We do not have credit card payments available. Current 4-H members registration is $25.00. Youth not currently enrolled is $40.00. The fee is due at the time of sign-up.

Christy Thomson is the instructor. She is a certified 4-H Outdoors Skills Instructor through the Indiana 4-H Shooting Sports program.
