History Center Weekend Events

The History Center invites you to learn twice as much about your history at two Fort Wayne landmarks this weekend.

This Saturday, June 3, discover the beauty of Miami Indian beadwork. Artist Katrina Mitten will give demonstrations from 1-4pm at the Chief Richardville House. Tours of this National Historic Landmark will be given on the hour throughout the afternoon.

Admission for this event is $7 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors. History Center members and children ages 2 and under are free. The Chief Richardville House is located at 5705 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809.

Come to the History Center to hear the George R. Mather Lecture presented by Shari Wagner. This lecture, titled When the Past Reappears: Imagining People & Places of Northeast Indiana through Poetry, will take place on Sunday, June 4 at 2pm. There will be a book signing promptly after the lecture. Shari Wagner has two published books of her poetry that explore Indiana’s landscape and past.
